Maths: Statistics

We are getting pretty clever at making and reading bar graphs. This week we were challenged to collect our own data and record this using tally marks and then create a class strip graph. Miss McKenzie wanted to know which car colour was most common we sat at the school and recorded the colours of cars that went past. Next we made the strip graph. It was huge!!

Self Portraits

We have worked really hard on making our self portraits look as much like us as possible! We looked closely in mirrors at the shapes and colours that make up our faces.

Here are the finished masterpieces.....

Buddy Reading

We are practising reading smoothly and quickly like we are talking. We know that we need to make our reading sound interesting by changing our voices so our buddy doesn't get bored.

Our First Day Back

We have had an awesome time in Room 3 getting to know each other and finding out what everyone has been doing in the holidays. We all enjoyed playing with our friends at lunchtime in the beautiful sunshine! We are all feeling very tired and will sleep well tonight!!

Here we are on our first day:

Note to parents:
The children do not have a reading book from school tonight but can read a book from home to record on their homework sheet, Also the home work books have not yet arrived and will be given out when I do get them. I have just sent their homework sheets home loosely tonight and they can be glued in at a later date.

See you all tomorrow!
